Viewfinder

Curated by artists Ashley Page and Meg Hahn, each selected artist draws inspiration from our constructed world, natural environment, and social structures by transmuting their daily experiences into playful new perspectives. Through various creative processes that include painting, sculpture, photography, and interdisciplinary practices, these artists use the mundane human experience as a point of departure, to create work that displays optimistic truths and transportive new worlds. Viewfinder is an invitation to step into the creative process and experience the world through the artists’ lens that merges worlds, identities, cultures, environments, truths, and more. The hope is for viewers to leave with a renewed sense of what is possible. On view: July 28th - September 23, 2023 at the Portland Public Library Lewis Gallery in Portland, ME.
